It’s funny where life takes you, huh? The path that leads you to where you are right now? I always wanted to help, but didn’t realise it would be as a children’s yoga teacher! Here ‘s my story…
I was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, and was lucky enough to meet my husband at school not far from where we live now! But we haven’t always lived here. With both of us in the RAAF, we travelled around Australia in different postings for 15 years, always with the desire to come home and raise our 2 boys here.
It’s quite the career change, though not so much a surprise for me. Put simply, I’ve always just wanted to help.
Most of my life I’ve been a volunteer for something.. Children’s Cancer Camps, Wildlife carer, Turtle Care, SES, door knock appeals and Meals on Wheels to name a few. My idea of volunteering is the thought of bringing positive change into someone’s life, the community and human connections we form and simply, the thought of giving back.
After completing my NLP practitioner certification in 2018, I wanted to find a way that I could reach children to be able to build on these life changing skills and tools. So, after practicing yoga myself for many years, and subconsciously bringing the yoga philosophy into my home, it seemed like the perfect fit.
I could see the long term benefits and positive change it could bring on a daily basis while supporting and encouraging concentration, relationship building, confidence and self-regulation. My way of giving back now is through yoga. Learning mindfulness and calming tools at an early age, our kids are armed with tools that then become part of their everyday life! So, my children really are my inspiration for pursuing yoga teaching.
I have hope that the next generation will have the strength to find peace within, which is where it all really begins.
With warmest regards x
