HOW TO WRITE YOUR HOMESCHOOL PLAN
Limited to 30 participants
9:30am - 10:15am |
Learning Room 002
Not sure where to start with your homeschool plan β or worried about getting it wrong?
This practical session takes you step-by-step through creating an educational plan for home education in Queensland, helping you understand what needs to be included without making the process more complicated than it needs to be.
Patricia will explore how to create a plan that meets the requirements while still being personal and meaningful to your child, reflecting their individual needs, goals, interests and learning opportunities. Free2Homeschool’s own guidance emphasises that an educational plan is part of the Queensland home-education application process and provides support specifically around writing one.
Perfect for families preparing their first plan, as well as existing homeschoolers who want greater confidence when writing their next one.
YOU’LL LEAVE WITH: A clearer understanding of what your homeschool plan needs to include, a practical framework for putting it together, and greater confidence to write a plan that reflects your individual child.

A Different Way to Learn: Supporting the Neurodivergent Child Through Connection and Regulation
Limited to 30 participants
11:30am - 12:15pm |
Learning Room 002
For many families, homeschooling begins after a child has experienced overwhelm, anxiety, masking, burnout or difficulty coping in a traditional school environment. For others, bringing learning home hasnβt automatically made things easier.
This warm, conversational session explores what may be happening beneath avoidance, shutdown, emotional overwhelm, difficulty with routines or resistance to learning β shifting the focus from βHow do I make my child do this?β to βWhat is my child communicating to me?β
Together, weβll look at connection, nervous-system regulation, masking and individual capacity, and consider how to create a home-learning environment that works with your child rather than recreating the pressures of school at home.
Whether youβre already homeschooling or wondering if it could offer your neurodivergent child a different path, this session offers a supportive place to reflect, ask questions and think differently about learning.
YOU’LL LEAVE WITH: A better understanding of what may be behind your childβs behaviour, practical ways to support connection and regulation, and a fresh perspective on creating a learning environment that works with your child.

Whether you’re preparing your first report or simply want a clearer and more manageable approach to reporting, this session will help you understand the process and feel more confident putting it all together.
