Hi there! My name is Kayla, I am a registered primary school teacher with a passion for teaching and learning. I have worked in education and with children for seven years across settings. I have taught and supported children across ages and abilities including children with learning difficulties and complex needs within special education. It’s through this varied experience I have learnt how to modify lessons and curriculum to meet individual needs and use specialised approaches to engage and enrich the learning of each student I work with.
I truly believe that every child’s educational approach should be as unique as the child themselves. There is no one size fits all to curriculum delivery and it’s through a dedicated team of supportive and caring adults that the best programs can be created. All children are capable of amazing things and deserve an education that is exciting, empowering and promotes their natural curiosity, critical thinking and joy for learning.
That is why my teaching approach is one grounded in family collaboration, individual goal setting, building positive relationships and is driven by the student’s interest and of course is FUN! I also believe it is crucial that the learning space is a safe space where students can come and feel not only valued, but celebrated. It is these core values that underpin every session with me at ‘Happy Home Learners’.
Through Happy Home Learners I am excited to be offering small group home schooling programs across school terms and 1:1 tutoring for students in preschool to year four. Whether it is 1:1 tutoring or small group classes, my teaching is always tailored to meet your child’s needs, interest and unique personalities. If you want to find out more feel free to get in touch or message me for a service document with more information.
