Hello, I’m Jess. I am a qualified primary school and early childhood teacher.
Having worked with children in both schools and kindergartens, in teaching, directing and educational leadership roles, I recognise that children all bring their own uniqueness to the world. I am passionate about helping each child to develop confidence in their unique self while learning skills to support their dispositions for life long learning. I am passionate about children’s holistic development, and supporting children’s wellbeing through social and emotional learning, and I want to help children learn these skills in fun and creative ways, in a nurturing small group setting for 4 – 6 year olds. Small group sessions run for 3 hours.
As well as my teaching qualifications I have trained in Circle of Security and Calm Coaching techniques, and I am equipped to teach children tools for breathing, relaxation, mindfulness, and therapeutic art. I incorporate all of these techniques into my work with children, as I believe that first and foremost children need to feel safe and calm in order to learn, and that empowering children with these tools and strategies will build their confidence, independence and problem solving skills in both the learning environment and in life.
I am trauma informed and experienced at working with children who have a diverse range of learning needs. I am registered with the Queensland College of Teachers, and hold a current first aid certificate.
