Meet Alison — Your Calligraphy Educator

Alison is a Gold Coast-based calligraphy artist and educator who loves sharing the art of beautiful handwriting with young learners. Based in Nobby Beach within Mermaid Beach, Alison brings warmth, patience, and genuine enthusiasm to every homeschool class, helping students discover the joy of creating something beautiful with their own hands.

Her artistic journey began with a deep passion for art, culminating in a Bachelor of 3D Design from Griffith University. That strong creative foundation, combined with years of diverse professional experience, gives Alison a unique ability to break down calligraphy into simple, approachable steps — perfect for curious young minds encountering the craft for the first time.

After a decade in the corporate world, Alison returned to her creative roots and immersed herself fully in calligraphy, mastering her craft through rigorous practice, advanced workshops, and years of dedicated study. That same discipline now shapes how she teaches — with structure, encouragement, and a genuine love of watching students progress.

Alison believes calligraphy is more than a skill — it’s a wonderful way for homeschool students to build focus, fine motor control, patience, and confidence, all while creating something they’re proud of. Her classes are designed to be engaging and hands-on, welcoming students at all levels and adapting to different ages and abilities.

From her Gold Coast base, Alison welcomes homeschool families across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Northern NSW, and wider Southeast Queensland, with travel available for group and co-op classes.
