Art and Science workshops

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:30 am on Thursday, repeating until 18 September 2025

$30

I run art and science workshops for primary school age and the program for term 3 is out. 😊

Science: We will learn about the solar system and its planets, with a focus on Mars. We will find out about microorganisms, what they are, where we find them. We will focus a bit more on bacteria and virus and find out what they look like. We will learn about endothermic and exothermic reactions through a whole lot of experiments. To finish off we will study the eye, its anatomy and learn how we can see. Every science session will be filled with hands on activities and experiments to understand what we are learning about better.

Art: In art we will dive into the life of Picasso and cubism. We will learn about Picasso’s blue period. We will also find out about his Cubism period by looking at some portraits. We will learn about the artist George Braque. For Father’s day we will create something for the dads or uncles or grandfathers. In our last session we will find out about the element of art called space and how to create the illusion of space in a painting. In every art session the students will create a painting along the lines of the artist we are leaning about.

Every week is packed with hands on activities, fun and learning. It is a drop off activity. 😊
